Darryl Nepinak

Born and raised in Winnipeg, Darryl Nepinak (Seaulteux) belongs to the Skownan First Nation. He was introduced to filmmaking through the Aboriginal Broadcast Training Initiative in 2005, where he made his first short film, The Last of the Nepinaks. Since then, he has gone on to make over ten short films that have screened around the world. His film INDIAN (2008) was commissioned by the Winnipeg Film Group for the Cinematheque's 25th anniversary. Shortly after, he was commissioned by the imagineNATIVE Film and Media Arts Festival to create Zwei Indianer Aus Winnipeg, which went on to screen at the 2009 Berlinale.

More recently, retrospectives of his work have been featured at Urban Shaman Gallery (2013), the Images Festival (2015), and upcoming for the WNDX Festival (2015).
